Our History

Tenwek Senior School traces its roots to 1945, when World Gospel Mission missionaries established the work that would grow into a Christian learning community in Bomet. From its earliest days, the school combined academic preparation, faith formation, practical responsibility and service to the community.

In 1961, Tenwek transitioned into a secondary school, expanding opportunities for boys in the region to pursue further education. Over the decades, successive school leaders, teachers, families and alumni have strengthened the institution while preserving its Christian foundation.

The campus has continued to develop through improved classrooms, boarding facilities, learning resources, sports spaces and student-support services. Today, Tenwek serves senior secondary learners under Kenya’s CBC pathways and remains committed to forming excellent and reliable leaders.
